SUMMER DANCE INTENSIVE - 22 & 23 August, Park House School, Newbury

£50.00 every 2 months for 4 months

Join us for a two-day contemporary dance intensive designed for adult movers of all ages, with a special welcome to dancers 50+ with experience.

Across the weekend, you’ll learn two distinct contemporary works, each offering a different creative approach and physical experience.

Day One is led by the inspiring guest artist Sonia Rafferty, bringing her depth of experience and distinctive voice as a long-standing member of Trinity Laban’s Dance Faculty.

Day Two is led by John Darvell, continuing the exploration through his own choreographic lens and approach to movement.

This is a space for adult dancers (with some previous dance experience) to reconnect, challenge themselves, and share the joy of dancing in a focused, supportive environment.

Booking note: The first release of tickets is for the full two-day intensive only. Closer to the time, we may open a limited number of single-day places on request.

£100 total — payable in two monthly instalments of £50

About Sonia

Sonia has developed her personal philosophy and approach to teaching over 40 years.  Her class is strongly influenced by the Limón principles of suspension, release, fall and recovery and opposition and flows through three dimensional and sculpted movement in space.

It logically progresses through introductory material that promotes clarity of execution and full body articulation then builds gradually towards dynamic and expressive sequences, layered with attention to phrasing and musicality.

With her expertise in dance science and safe practice, Sonia makes sure that everyone can enjoy the dancing while investigating personal challenges.
